Investor Overview

ESG-grade, audit-ready tobacco compliance infrastructure for Zimbabwe's smallholder sector.

Marillion Curing Villages is an integrated compliance and sustainability platform addressing Zimbabwe's firewood-curing ban through solar-thermal curing, biogas, and woodlot infrastructure — built to institutional environmental and labour standards.

Who This Is For

Built for Institutional Capital

Marillion Curing Villages is structured for institutions seeking asset-backed African exposure with measurable ESG outcomes.

Development Finance Institutions & Impact Funds

Measurable environmental and social outcomes across a smallholder footprint, with development additionality.

ESG & Sustainable Funds

Environmental and labour standards built into the operating model — suited to sustainability and Article 9-style mandates.

Pension & Institutional Allocators

Long-dated, asset-backed exposure to a regulated agricultural value chain with a structural demand driver.

Banks & Private Credit

Physical-asset security and contracted, compliance-driven revenue underpinning the infrastructure base.

The Investment Case

Why It Fits an Institutional Mandate

Asset-Backed

Underpinned by physical curing infrastructure, woodlots, and land-linked assets — not a purely financial claim.

ESG by Design

Labour, environmental, and traceability standards are structural to operations, adapted from Altria TLP contract-grower requirements.

African Real-Asset Exposure

Direct exposure to Zimbabwe's smallholder tobacco value chain, a globally significant production base.

Structural Demand Driver

Zimbabwe's 2029 firewood-curing ban makes compliant curing infrastructure a regulatory necessity, not a discretionary upgrade.

Scaling with Capital

A Scalable Deployment Model

Each curing village is a fixed, fully-costed building block at $75,000 in capital. This makes deployment scalable in defined increments — capacity is a function of capital and build rate, not of market demand. Zimbabwe's national flue-cured crop of approximately 400 million kg per year is the addressable ceiling; the figures below illustrate deployment capacity at increasing levels of committed capital.

Illustrative deployment capacity, dependent on committed capital, construction throughput, and offtake agreements — not a volume forecast. The base case reflects Marillion's conservative independent rollout.

Throughput calculated at 25,000 kg per village — the improved yield achieved under the curing-village model, up from a current-practice baseline of approximately 17,500 kg.

Scale is gated by real operational factors: village construction build rate, trained curing and agronomy crews, farmer onboarding capacity, and merchant offtake agreements.
